Bayou estuary
DISCOVER THE ESTUARY on an 11 Mile Guided Paddling Trip

Barataria-Terrebonne National Estuary Program is known for its annual Paddle Bayou Lafourche event. This year try something different! Paddle through a beautiful swamp, marsh, and the edge of Lake Des Allemands.

Event details are as follows:
Date: October 12, 2018 9AM to 5PM
Location: Bayou Chevreuil
Trip: Starts at St. James Boat Launch on Hwy 20 north of Chackbay and
Ends at the Larousse Launch in Kraemer

Our goals are to provide the public with an opportunity to recognize, understand, and value the rich natural and cultural resources of our estuarine system as well as to enhance opportunities for folks to appreciate the quality and the quantity of nature-based and cultural experiential tourism in the estuary.

Along the route paddlers will view inside a CWPPRA coastal restoration project titled Hydrologic Restoration and Vegetative Plantings in the Des Allemands Swamp.
